waffle day in Sweden-yumyum

March 25th  is another delicious day in Sweden, called Waffle Day - Våffeldagen. Swedes eat heart-shaped waffles topped with whipped cream and jam made from cloudberries I love all of these days that are devoted to different foods or bakery, the reason we celebrate Waffle Day, and eat waffles in Sweden on this day, is actually said to be caused by a simple hearing mistake.

 this day is also named Marie bebådelsedag - Annunciation Day in our calender, originally known as Vårfrudagen - Lady Day in Sweden. And because the Swedish word Vårfru and the Swedish word våffla (waffle) sound almost the same, with time Vårfrudagen slowly changed into Våffeldagen.

The Swedish waffles are thinner than their Belgian counterparts, and are lovely with just a little sugar or lashings of cream and strawberry jam.

250ml water
350ml plain flour
200ml milk
2 tsp baking powder

Melt the butter in a pan and let it cool down a little
Mix water, flour, milk and baking powder until smooth.
Add the butter.
Heat up the griddle iron and grease lightly before the first few waffles to prevent sticking. lay the, on a wire rack unless you plan on eating them immediately.

一款我喜欢的牛油蛋糕,做法很简单. 蛋糕体很松软可口轻盈很软,这款玛芬添加了杏仁粉,很香甜.享用的时候最好配上一杯醇香的黑咖啡,很清爽的一顿下午茶就轻松促成了^_^


黄油60克 糖粉70克(原方85克) 盐1/8小匙 鸡蛋50克 牛奶80ml 低粉85克 可可粉2大匙 小苏打1/4小匙 泡打粉1/2小匙


1. 黄油软化,用打蛋器稍微打发至表面光滑,略微发白,体积稍有变大;
2. 筛入入糖粉拌匀;
3. 倒入盐,再分三次加入蛋液,拌匀
4. 筛入混合均匀的低粉、可可粉、泡打粉和小苏打,;
5. 用橡皮刮刀轻轻翻拌均匀,至光滑无颗粒。
6. 面糊倒入纸杯至1/2-2/3满。180,25分钟

I Feel Sad

Human is not immortal.We dont when our date as we is still alive.We have no appreciate every moment we have.Not matter it is a hour,a day,a month or year.time is not waiting for us...
The clock will not stop for us....if we keep ignore it,it will ignore us as well.Maybe,you have alot of time to waste.Maybe,you never know that the time is coming.....

I feel very sad that i hear the accident ...i feel sad that i am not around that moment.i am so worry..
and can feel the pain like you feel..... I alway hope that Sherman can give up his motor.
Which one is more important for you?as for me Life is more important.

Swedish Meatballs

Swedish meatballs make holiday gatherings special. Each meatball is made by hand and topped with gravy and mashed potatoes....Swedish Meatballs easy and delilcious.


  • 1 1/2 cups soft bread crumbs, about 3 slices bread
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion or 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 can (10 1/2 ounces) condensed beef broth
  • 1 cup half-and-half or light cream


Combine bread crumbs, onion, salt, pepper, nutmeg and 3/4 cup milk in a large mixing bowl. Let milk soak into crumbs for a few minutes. Gently stir in ground beef until well blended; form into balls about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Brown meatballs in butter and oil in a large skillet; remove with a slotted spoon to a 2 1/2-quart baking dish. Drain off all but 2 tablespoons of drippings; stir flour into drippings. Cook, stirring constantly, until bubbly. Stir in beef broth and cream. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens and boils for a minute. Pour over Swedish meatballs in baking dish. Bake Swedish meatballs at 325° for 30 to 45 minutes. Swedish meatball recipe serves 5.

Semlor(Swedish cream buns)



To make a dozen Swedish semlor, you will need:
  • 25g of yeast
  • 75g of margarine or butter
  • 200ml of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Half a teaspoon of cardamom
  • 500ml of sugar
  • 700ml of plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder  
  • For the filling and topping, you will also need:
  • Roughly grated almond paste
  • Whipping cream
  • Milk
  • Icing sugar
